Faith is Enough: Part 2 – Promise Over Performance
October 12, 2025
Living by faith means releasing control and trusting entirely in God’s promises rather than our performance. The Galatian churches struggled with this, slipping back into trying to earn righteousness through religious rituals after initially embracing salvation by faith alone. God’s unconditional covenant with Abraham demonstrates His faithfulness as a promise-keeper, while the Mosaic Law served as guardrails pointing toward the coming Messiah. Jesus accomplished what we cannot: He justifies while the law only judges, provides what the law only promised, and changes hearts while the law only controls behavior. Understanding that faith is enough should lead us to rest in Christ’s finished work rather than trying to earn God’s approval through religious performance.
