Deeply Moved
June 29, 2025
Jesus wept at Lazarus’s tomb not merely from grief, but from being deeply disturbed by death’s brokenness and the sisters’ doubt in His power. Despite Martha and Mary’s belief that Jesus could have prevented death, they couldn’t grasp that He had power over death itself. The raising of Lazarus revealed Jesus’s divine power over death, His identity as one with God, and His promise of eternal life. This miracle challenges us to examine our own doubts and to trust Jesus with our seemingly impossible situations, believing that His resurrection power can speak life into our hopeless circumstances.
